Food is always one of the mainstays of a festival and at the World’s Largest Wild Rice Festival food choices abound.

Deer River Sportsman’s Club Turtle Feed - If you’ve never tried snapping turtle stew, you don’t know what you’re missing. Since the 1960’s the Sportsman’s Club have been hosting a Turtle Feed. Come on out and give it a try Friday evening in the Deer River Vets Club.

United Methodist Church Wild Rice Dinner - The United Methodist Church has for years been a part of the World’s Largest Wild Rice Festival. From serving chicken dinners in the early years to serving the very best Wild Rice Hotdish Dinner today, their dinner is one of the staples of the festival. Check them out Saturday beginning at 11AM.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church Turkey Dinner - How about a Turkey Dinner with all the fixin’s. That’s what you’ll find on the Sunday menu at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Turkey, potatoes, vegetables, dessert and more. The dinner starts at 11:30 and goes until the food is gone.

Deer River Lions Hamburger Stand - If your looking for a good, old-fashioned hamburger stop by the hamburger stand located near the bingo venue. The hand-pattied hamburgers and cheeseburgers with raw or fried onions are very popular. Everyone should eat at least one.

Legion and VFW Auxilary Food Stand - Located in the Beer Garden on the east side of the Vets Club these groups offer a variety of choices that are sure to please. Open all weekend.

Midway Treats - Corndogs, cotton candy, and gyro sandwiches can be found at the stands located on the midway. Any of these festival staples are sure to please.
